making natural wood buttons

These rough wood buttons can be used to decorate anything from cushions to a handmade purse. Find a dry and barkless branch, one or two inches in diameter, and cut thin slices (3 or 4 millemeters thick) using a thin saw blade such as a backsaw. Put the branch on a miter box, it is more practical.

Then, using a gimlet, drill 2-millimeter holes into the buttons . Slightly sanded, they will keep their rough look. Finally, you just have to sew them with a natural thread. You can also sew your wood buttons onto a piece of pretty cardboard to make an ecological and original gift...
