With just a stencil, a wooden board and some chicken wire,
you can make these original little paintings that will look great in the kitchen.
Saw two 19 x 17 cm (7½ x 6 2/3 in.) rectangles of wood. Sand down the surface.
Print the chicken stencil onto a sheet of thick paper and cut it out with a craft knife.
Prepare a thickish stencil paint (poster paint, for example) and stipple (tap) it on with a brush.
Once the paint has dried, cut out the chicken wire, allowing a margin of about 3 cm (1 1/5 in.) all around.
If the chicken wire has been rolled up, either place it under a weight to flatten it out
or make sure the convex portion covers the front of the painting.
Fold the wire around the edge of the board, using a spare piece of wood for help, and fasten it with a few staples behind the board.
Hammer down the wire around the edges of the painting.
